Batta (Grasshoppers)
are everywhere in Japan. They hide in the meadows. Look closely
and you can see them jumping and enjoying themselves in the green.
Chappa is a percussion
instrument and was traditionally used in Buddhist ceremonies. It
is a multi-tone instrument.
It is hard to stop wiggling
the body when struggling to create the variety of sounds. Like grasshoppers
dancing in the field, we reach out and jump around.
